About this opportunity
The National Park Service, Intermountain Region, has issued a Special Notice for the intent to award a sole source contract for the purchase and delivery of up to 130 tons of colored gold StaLok paving materials to the Grand Canyon National Park. This Special Notice is published pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), which allows contracting officers to solicit from a single source if it is determined that only one source is reasonably available to satisfy the agency's requirements.
The purpose of this Special Notice is to inform interested parties of the National Park Service's intent to procure the StaLok paving materials from Stabilizer Solutions, the sole source provider of this proprietary product. The National Park Service has determined that the StaLok paving materials are the only product that meets the logistical and aesthetic requirements for applying an improved tread material onto the Bright Angel Point Trail at the Grand Canyon National Park. This will be a commercial acquisition using simplified acquisition procedures, and the procurement will be classified under NAICS code 327992 - Ground or Treated Mineral and Earth Manufacturing. While this is a sole source notice and not a request for quotations, any responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which will be considered by the agency. The due date for any responses to this notice is July 31, 2024.
