About this opportunity
NOAA's National Geodetic Survey intends to solicit terrestrial lidar scanners and associated software, maintenance, training, licensing, and warranties, with a sources-sought notice due by June 15, 2026. No set-aside is anticipated.
The procurement supports core hydrographic and geospatial missions and rapid-response data collection following natural and manmade disasters. Two distinct scanner systems are required: the first must achieve survey-grade 3D data collection with standoff distances of at least 2,000 meters under manufacturer-published operating conditions; the second must reach at least 600 meters standoff distance. Both systems must operate from limited and potentially remote terrestrial vantage points while maintaining high accuracy and sufficient point density suitable for outdoor survey and mapping applications. A one-year warranty option is mandatory.
Responses should address capability to deliver the specified lidar scanners with associated software, maintenance, training, licensing, and warranties. Standard brochures are not acceptable. Submissions are limited to two pages and must include company name and address, SAM Unique Entity Identification Number, company size classification, point of contact information, current GSA contract numbers or Government-wide Acquisition Contracts if applicable, and a clear explanation of capability. NOAA seeks to identify capable sources including small businesses and socio-economic sources.
Responses are due by June 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time to Kirstin Bryant (Kirstin.Bryant@noaa.gov) with a copy to Nicole Lawson (Nicole.Lawson@noaa.gov). This is market research only; responses are voluntary and non-binding, and will not result in government compensation. The applicable NAICS code is 333310 (Commercial and Service Industry Machinery Manufacturing) with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees.
