About this opportunity
Naval Air Systems Command is soliciting removal and disposal of a corroded 1000-gallon emergency generator fuel tank and installation of a compatible replacement at Naval Support Activity Orlando, with quotations due June 29, 2026 at 12:00 PM EST. This is an unrestricted full and open competition under FAR Part 12 for commercial products and services.
Place of performance is 12211 Science Drive, Orlando, FL 32826. The existing tank, installed in 2001, measures 212 inches long, 75 inches wide, and 36 inches tall and has extensive corrosion compromising structural integrity; original manufacturer specifications are unavailable. The generator, a Caterpillar-inspected unit with approximately 450 hours of use and 20 years of remaining operational life, provides emergency power to the building's server farm and cooling system. The Government has rejected alternative approaches including standalone supply tank installation due to space constraints and the corroded tank's unsuitability as a base unit, and full generator replacement as cost-prohibitive given the unit's remaining service life.
Performance period runs July 1 through September 25, 2026, with required delivery completion no later than July 30, 2026. All contractor employees must provide proof of U.S. citizenship; some work areas may require security clearance and escort. Quotations must include firm fixed price, country of origin/manufacture information, SAM Unique Entity ID, and technical description demonstrating compliance. The evaluation uses Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA), with Technical Capability evaluated as Acceptable/Unacceptable and Price evaluated for reasonableness. NAICS code is 332420, Metal Tank (Heavy Gauge) Manufacturing; PSC code is 3443. Quotations must remain valid 90 days. Amendments One through Four added Question and Answer files and corrected the due time to 12:00 PM on June 29.
