About this opportunity
The National Institute of Standards and Technology is preparing to procure vacuum equipment repair services for its molecular beam epitaxy crystal growth system, with a sources sought response deadline of July 24, 2026. NIST has not yet determined its acquisition strategy and explicitly states that identification of E-Science in the market research does not constitute a binding sole-source commitment; if capable alternative sources express interest, NIST will consider conducting a competitive procurement.
The work involves refurbishment of a 90 cc Valved Titan Effusion Cell (serial number ES-18-0530) critical to the agency's semiconductor materials research and CHIPS metrology projects. The contractor must disassemble, replace broken or degraded components, clean usable parts, and reassemble the cell to original specifications, including outgassing and vacuum testing with documented results. The contractor must also supply a new graphite crucible (E-Science Part Number C101137) verified for dimensional compatibility. Both deliverables must be completed within 8 weeks of order receipt, with a 6-week lead time for repairs and testing at the contractor's facility.
Delivery is F.O.B. Destination to NIST's facility in Boulder, Colorado (325 Broadway, Building 81, Room 1A-115). Payment will be made at 100% upon acceptance following successful completion of performance testing, with Net 30-day terms applied to properly submitted invoices. The Government will accept or reject equipment within 5 working days of receipt.
Respondents should submit information via email in Microsoft Word, Adobe PDF, or Microsoft Excel format, including company summary, feedback on draft requirements, product and service specifications with country-of-manufacture details, standard commercial pricing, warranty information, and information regarding existing governmentwide contract vehicles such as GSA MAS contracts.
