About this opportunity
NASA's Information Technology Procurement Office announced a sole-source contract intent for a Nikon VOXLS 20 C 225 X-ray System to be supplied by Nikon Metrology, LLC, with interested organizations invited to submit capabilities and qualifications by 3:00 PM CDT on September 2, 2026. The system will support NASA Langley Research Center with advanced high-resolution three-dimensional volumetric imaging for nondestructive inspection and characterization of aerospace materials, components, and assemblies. NASA invokes FAR 6.103-1 (only one responsible source) as the authority for sole-source justification, noting that Nikon Metrology, LLC is the sole provider of the specified equipment. The Government intends to acquire the system as a commercial product under FAR Part 12. Interested parties should submit capabilities and qualifications electronically to Jonathan Gomez (jonathan.g.gomez@nasa.gov) and Christina Ostronic (christina.m.ostronic@nasa.gov). Responses will be evaluated to determine whether the acquisition should proceed on a competitive basis; the Government reserves final discretion on competition. NASA Clause 1852.215-84 (Ombudsman) applies; the Center Ombudsman listing is available at the NASA Procurement Ombudsman website.
