About this opportunity
The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), on behalf of the Chief FOIA Officers Council's Technology Committee in conjunction with the Office of Government Information Services (OGIS) and the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Information Policy (OIP), has issued a Special Notice for the NexGen FOIA Tech Showcase 3.0. This is a Request for Information (RFI) designed to identify and showcase artificial intelligence-supported tools and technologies that can streamline Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) case management and processing for federal agencies. The event builds upon two previous NexGen FOIA Tech Showcases held in 2022 and 2024. This Special Notice represents an amendment extending the submission deadline to March 27, 2026, and the virtual event itself is scheduled for May 12-14, 2026.
Vendors interested in participating must submit written responses of three to five pages by 11:59 p.m. ET on March 27, 2026, to CFO-Council@nara.gov with the subject line "RFI Response: NexGen FOIA Tech Showcase 3.0." Submissions should identify which solution category is being addressed, describe real-world FOIA workflow applications, include FedRAMP authorization status, and list current federal government clients using the solution. Solution categories of interest include FOIA case management systems, AI-supported tools, electronic discovery and record search tools, case processing workflows, redaction tools, public reading rooms, customer experience platforms, and analytics and integration tools. Selected vendors will be invited to submit video demonstrations and complete a vendor survey. While this RFI is for information and planning purposes only and does not guarantee contract awards, responses will be posted publicly on www.foia.gov/chief-foia-officers-council, and selected vendors will have the opportunity to showcase their solutions during the May event to federal FOIA professionals and agency technology staff.
