About this opportunity
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is soliciting quotes for comprehensive news release distribution, broadcast, online news, and social media monitoring services through a Request for Quote (RFQ). The solicitation seeks a contractor to provide electronic distribution of press releases, traditional media monitoring across all 210 U.S. DMAs, and social media management services for the agency's communication needs. Key contract requirements include distributing up to 170 press releases annually (with 50 Spanish translations), providing 24/7 media monitoring, and managing social media platforms with access to a database of at least 350,000 journalists and bloggers. The evaluation will be conducted on a best-value basis, with technical capabilities being significantly more important than price, and will consider factors such as media distribution reach, translation capabilities, and past performance. Quotes are due by February 22, 2025, with questions accepted until February 14, 2025, and all quotes must remain valid through February 28, 2025.
The contract is not set aside for any specific business category and will be awarded on a firm-fixed-price basis for an initial one-year term with four potential 12-month option periods, extending the potential contract duration to five years total. The place of performance is located in Bethesda, Maryland, with services to begin on March 15, 2025. While specific award value is not explicitly stated, the comprehensive nature of services suggests a substantial contract covering national media distribution, monitoring, and management across multiple platforms. The contractor must demonstrate capability to distribute to a minimum of 3,000 media outlets, provide immediate press release distribution, and offer translation services within four business hours. Successful vendors must maintain an active SAM.gov registration and be prepared to provide detailed reporting on media engagement and audience metrics for the CPSC's communication efforts.
