About this opportunity
The Department of Energy Office of Science is procuring one new Hyster J40XNT counterbalanced electric forklift with no acceptable substitutes through Brookhaven National Laboratory. Vendors must submit an all-inclusive Firm Fixed Price (FFP) quote by May 18, 2026, that incorporates freight, tariffs, packing, and all delivery costs to the destination. Key requirements include vendor registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) with a valid Unique Entity Identifier (UEI), provision of a published price list or comparable pricing documentation to justify costs for Department of Energy reporting, and compliance with Brookhaven Science Associates' General Terms and Conditions for Commercial Products (Revision 23.0, May 2025). The solicitation specifies that a servicing agent must be located within 75 miles of Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton, New York, and vendors should provide their best available discounts. While no specific evaluation criteria beyond price competitiveness and compliance are detailed in the solicitation notice, the emphasis on pricing justification and vendor qualifications indicates that cost and capability will be primary factors in award determination.
This procurement carries no set-aside designation and represents a straightforward equipment purchase with no identified incumbent contractor. The award value is not specified in the solicitation materials, though the Firm Fixed Price quote will establish the total contract value. Delivery is anticipated for late December 2026 or mid-January 2027, providing approximately seven to eight months for equipment manufacturing and shipment. The forklift will be delivered to Building 98 at Receiving in Upton, New York 11973, where it will serve as the sole place of performance. Payment terms are Net 30 days from invoice submission, with electronic invoices in PDF format preferred and directed to APINVOICES@BNL.GOV, and the purchase order incorporates comprehensive quality assurance requirements including ISO 9001 certification compliance and NRTL equipment safety certifications.
