About this opportunity
Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) is seeking bids for medical equipment and related services for its new Medical Center within the Seismic Safety & Modernization (SSM) facility. The Department of Energy, a civilian agency, is overseeing this procurement, which requires a vendor capable of providing medical equipment, storage, installation, setup, calibration, commissioning, and training. Key contract requirements include having a Bay Area equipment installation partner and local warehousing capabilities to accommodate potential early deliveries or construction delays. The pre-solicitation notice indicates that vendors must be prepared to submit detailed responses electronically to JEGraves@lbl.gov by December 18, 2024, with the full Request for Proposal (RFP) expected to be issued in January 2025. While specific evaluation criteria are not explicitly detailed in the pre-solicitation notice, vendors will likely be assessed on their technical capabilities, local presence, and ability to meet comprehensive equipment procurement and installation requirements.
The contract is not designated for any specific set-aside category and falls under the NAICS category of Institutional Furniture Manufacturing (337127) and PSC category of Medical and Surgical Instruments, Equipment, and Supplies (6515). The estimated project value is approximately $770,000, with a projected timeline that includes contract award in July 2025, equipment delivery in October 2026, and final installation scheduled for December 2026. The procurement covers the complete lifecycle of medical equipment procurement, from initial storage through final installation and training, indicating a comprehensive and complex acquisition process. No specific incumbent contractors are mentioned in the pre-solicitation notice, and the document emphasizes that responding to the Request for Information does not provide any competitive advantage in future solicitations. Vendors should note that any submitted information may be made public and should avoid including proprietary details in their responses.
