About this opportunity
The United States Coast Guard (Department of Homeland Security) is seeking a contractor to perform an annual inspection of the Hi-Fog Water Mist Fire Suppression System on the USCGC Neah Bay, located in Cleveland, Ohio. The solicitation (ID: 7dde63a85bbd408ea80f7022e8ebc22a) will be awarded on a lowest price technically acceptable basis, focusing on the contractor's ability to set up, test, and return the water mist system to normal operation. The primary responsibilities include inspecting and renewing 29 bottles using MPC R-A-13380 as guidance, ensuring all system connections, fittings, and equipment are operating correctly. Any identified discrepancies must be noted and corrected at no additional cost, with potential extra expenses requiring prior customer approval. The solicitation is open from May 8, 2025, with proposals due by May 19, 2025, and the performance period set for June 1-31, 2025.
The contract is designated as a total small business set-aside and falls under the NAICS category 336611 (Ship Building and Repairing) with a Product Service Code of J020 for marine equipment maintenance and repair. While the solicitation does not specify a precise contract value, it involves a comprehensive inspection of a critical fire suppression system on a Coast Guard vessel. The contractor will be responsible for a detailed examination of the Hi-Fog Water Mist Fire Suppression System, which includes testing 29 bottles and ensuring the system's complete operational integrity. The short one-month performance period suggests this is a focused, specialized maintenance contract requiring technical expertise in marine fire suppression systems.
