About this opportunity
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Secret Service, awarded a GSA Multiple Award Schedule delivery order to Business Interiors, Inc. for furniture, design, freight, and installation supporting the National Computer Forensics Institute's facility expansion in Hoover, Alabama, on a limited-sources basis, with an award value of $1,377,925.36.
The justification under FAR 8.4 (Only One Source, except brand name) rests on Business Interiors' existing integration into the concurrent City of Hoover facility-expansion project. The contractor possessed project-specific space utilization blueprints, building information modeling data, and approved product configurations necessary for compatibility with the facility's architectural plans, fixed furniture, electrical pathways, floor trenches, power and data connections, and the prime construction contractor's schedule. The deliverables include furnishings for twenty administrative offices, three 35-person classrooms, a 250-person auditorium, front lobby, food court, and conference rooms, comprising workstations, desks, chairs, collaborative seating, electrostatic-dissipating classroom desks, booths, couches, and conference-room furniture. Use of another vendor would have required duplicative site surveys, design and engineering coordination, product matching, and separate delivery and installation planning, creating increased cost, schedule delay, and integration risk. Place of performance is Hoover, Alabama. The award was issued under GSA Contract GS-27F-015CA on September 24, 2026, with contracting officer certification and Head of Contracting Activity approval dated September 17, 2026.
Notice text
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Secret Service, Office of Procurement, awarded a GSA Multiple Award Schedule delivery order to Business Interiors, Inc. for furniture, design, freight, and installation supporting the National Computer Forensics Institute’s facility expansion in Hoover, Alabama.
The award includes furnishings for administrative offices, classrooms, auditorium and lobby areas, food-service space, and conference rooms. Required items include workstations, desks, chairs, collaborative seating, classroom electrostatic-dissipating desks, booths, couches, and conference-room furniture.
The delivery order was awarded on a limited-sources basis under FAR 8.4, Only One Source (except brand name). Business Interiors was the only source capable of providing the required furnishings and services at the required level of quality because it was already integrated with the City of Hoover’s concurrent NCFI facility-expansion project. Its project-specific furniture layouts, approved product configurations, infrastructure coordination, and installation sequencing were necessary to ensure compatibility with the facility’s architectural plans, fixed furniture, power and data connections, construction schedule, and installation activities.
Use of another vendor would have required duplicative site surveys, design and engineering coordination, product matching, and separate delivery and installation planning, creating increased cost, schedule delay, and integration risk.
The attached redacted justification provides the supporting rationale for this award.
Awarded contract GS-27F-015CA to unknown vendor for unknown amount on 2026-09-24.
