About this opportunity

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases intends to negotiate solely with Oxford Nanoimaging Inc. for their Nanoimager compact high-resolution microscope system. This acquisition is for a microscope to support research at the National Institutes of Health Integrated Research Facility at Fort Detrick involving risk group 3 and 4 pathogens. The microscope must meet requirements for a compact footprint suitable for biosafety cabinets, 30nm or better resolution for live cell imaging of virus-infected cells, integrated microfluidics and temperature control, and remote access capabilities. Interested parties may submit capability statements by August 16, 2021 for consideration, though award remains at the agency's discretion.

There is no set-aside designation. The microscope falls under NAICS code 334516 and PSC code J069. The justification cites that Oxford Nanoimaging Inc. is the only responsible source able to meet the functional and biosafety requirements. The firm fixed price contract is estimated at $1,000,000 and includes installation, training, and initial warranty period for the microscope.
