About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration is seeking contractors to provide medical air and vacuum system replacement services for the NY Harbor Health Care System's Brooklyn outpatient medical facility located at 800 Poly Place. The VA plans to issue a Request for Quotes (RFQ) on or about February 17, 2025, with an anticipated performance period from March 17, 2025, through June 16, 2025. Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at the time of quote submission and can be classified under NAICS code 238290 for Other Building Equipment Contractors. All questions regarding the solicitation must be emailed to Contract Specialist Chris Weider at Christopher.Weider@va.gov, with the RFQ number 36C24225Q0329 included in the subject line. The opportunity is being solicited without a specific small business set-aside, meaning all qualified contractors can compete.

The solicitation is for a one-time requirement with a small business size standard of $22 million. While specific evaluation criteria are not detailed in the pre-solicitation notice, interested contractors will need to demonstrate capability in medical vacuum and air system replacement services. The project is being managed through the VA's Network Contracting Office (NCO 2) located in Cheektowaga, New York, with quotes due by February 10, 2025. The contract will involve replacing medical air and vacuum systems at the Brooklyn outpatient facility, which suggests a specialized technical scope of work requiring expertise in medical facility infrastructure. The short performance period of approximately three months indicates this is a targeted, time-sensitive project aimed at upgrading critical medical facility systems.
