About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 16 is conducting market research for fire alarm and sprinkler system services at the Alexandria VA Hospital in Pineville, Louisiana. The Network Contracting Office 16, located in Houston, Texas, seeks qualified contractors to provide comprehensive maintenance, repair, annual inspections, and certifications for the facility's EST FireWorks fire alarm system and fire sprinkler systems. Contractors must possess NICET certifications (Level 1 and Level 3), certification with the Louisiana State Fire Marshal, and maintain a brick-and-mortar location within 20 miles of the project site. The government anticipates awarding a competitive, firm fixed-price single-sourced contract and is using this Sources Sought Notice to determine contractor capabilities, pricing information, and whether a small business set-aside is appropriate. All questions must be submitted by July 21st, 2025 at 12:00 PM CST, with responses due by July 24th, 2025 at 3:00 PM CST to Contract Specialist Eugene Jackson at eugene.jackson2@va.gov.
No set-aside designation has been determined at this time, as the government is specifically conducting this market research to evaluate potential small business set-asides under NAICS code 238220 (Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors). No incumbent contractors or current service providers are identified in the documentation. The 12-month contract will allocate 1,248 hours for fire alarm services and 160 hours for sprinkler system services, with $8,500 budgeted for fire alarm parts and $15,000 for fire sprinkler parts. The contractor must provide weekly on-site visits, submit monthly detailed reports, and offer a one-year warranty on all parts and labor. While specific total contract values are not disclosed, the government is requesting pricing estimates from potential contractors for budgetary and market research purposes.
