About this opportunity

The Department of Energy Office of Science seeks a Multipurpose Ultrafast Interferometer and Spectrometer System with proposals due July 31, 2026 at 5:00 PM CST. Evaluation will be lowest price, technically acceptable. No set-aside applies.

Place of performance is Lemont, Illinois. The system must be ultracompact and insertable into a beam path, multipurpose to generate pulse pairs and spectral interferograms on excitation or detected beam, and compatible with LabVIEW code and HydraHarp/PicoHarp detectors. Technical specifications include attosecond-level stability between light replicas, spectral resolution down to 1 nm, spectral range of at least 400 nm to 2000 nm, and maximum delay exceeding 1500 fs at 600 nm. The NAICS code is 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing); PSC code is 6650 (Optical Instruments, Test Equipment, Components and Accessories).

Proposals must include a fully executed copy of the ANL-70 Request for Quotation form. Representations and certifications are required per ANL-70A, with applicability thresholds that include Buy American Act certification for supplies offers at $10,000 or above, lobbying certifications for offers at $150,000 or above, and price-determination certificates for fixed-price offers at $250,000 or above. Standard Argonne National Laboratory terms and conditions apply, incorporating FAR and DEAR clauses and requiring compliance with cybersecurity standards (SOC2, PCI-DSS, HITRUST, ISO, NIST), data breach notification within ten business days, and site access requirements including REAL ID for individuals eighteen and older. Payment methods include check, ACH, credit card, or wire transfer; foreign vendors require ANL-1094 form.
