About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command's 502d Contracting Squadron is conducting market research for multi-functional printer maintenance and consumables services for ten Hewlett Packard Color Laser Jet Enterprise MFP M577 devices located at the Medical Command (MedCoM) facility at JBSA Fort Sam Houston, Texas. This Request for Information seeks to identify small businesses capable of providing comprehensive maintenance services and consumables including HP brand or equivalent toner cartridges, developer, printer heads, and drums for these multi-functional devices. The contractor must respond to on-site service calls within 24 working hours during normal business hours (7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday) and maintain devices according to manufacturer specifications. The evaluation will focus on determining effective solicitation criteria related to consumables supply, toner quality and quantity performance, annual and periodic maintenance requirements, and factors affecting contractor service costs. Responses to this market research questionnaire are due by 10:00 AM Central Standard Time on September 24, 2025, and must be submitted via email to rheame.griffin.2@us.af.mil in PDF format.
This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, restricting participation to qualified small business enterprises only. The government estimates approximately 20,000 standard-sized copies per month across all ten devices, which are located at 2899 Schofield Road, Building 2630, at JBSA Fort Sam Houston, Texas. The Performance Work Statement became effective on September 15, 2025, and includes twelve specific device serial numbers that require maintenance coverage. This market research initiative does not guarantee future solicitation or contract award, and the government has explicitly stated it is not obligated to compensate vendors participating in this research phase. No incumbent contractor information or budget ranges have been disclosed in the available documentation, as this represents preliminary market exploration rather than an active procurement opportunity.
