About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District (CENAP) issued a sole-source Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract justification for non-personal moving services supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Carderock, awarded to Magadia, a Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB). The contract encompasses disassembly, assembly, repairs, and inventory tracking of modular furniture from manufacturers including AllSteel, Steelcase, and Gunlock, along with movement of general office furniture, laboratory equipment, and testing equipment weighing up to 5,000 lbs. The justification invokes unusual and compelling urgency under FAR 6.302-2, citing that the current contract expires within seven days and that Magadia is the only contractor capable of continuing services without disruption due to its direct experience and the impracticality of transitioning a new contractor within the required timeframe, which would require a minimum of two to three weeks for security processing and badging. The six-month contract award (Contract No. W912BU26DA010) is estimated to fall under the simplified acquisition threshold and includes seven Contract Line Item Numbers covering 324 small on-site moves, 180 medium on-site moves, 13 medium recurring moves, 130 large on-site moves, 6 large remote moves, 6 monthly warehouse inventory updates, and 6 months of project supervision. A competitive procurement for a five-year follow-on contract is already underway to address long-term requirements.
