About this opportunity
The Department of the Interior National Park Service Midwest Region seeks replacement of propane tank farm components at Mount Rushmore National Memorial via request for quotation, with proposals due June 26. The procurement is a Total Small Business set-aside.
Place of performance is Mount Rushmore National Memorial. Work is scheduled to begin in July or August 2026. The scope includes replacement of the inoperable impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) rectifier, buried ICCP anodes, and insulated wiring per NACE, API, and NFPA industry standards; installation of dielectric unions at two vaporizer inlet liquid lines to isolate the vaporizer from the rectifier system and prevent corrosion; replacement of the approximately 30-year-old first-stage outlet regulator concurrent with vaporizer assembly replacement for reliability and modern safety compliance; removal and replacement of an incorrectly installed back-check valve with a properly oriented three-way valve to meet NFPA 58 requirements; and retention of the existing vaporizer burner gas meter unless inspection reveals mechanical failure, inaccurate readings, or damage. Temporary propane vapor supply provisions are required only if overnight temperatures are predicted to drop below 32 degrees Fahrenheit for more than five consecutive hours and remain below freezing for more than three hours during daylight hours; given the July/August start, this is likely not applicable. The contract is firm fixed price and subject to Service Contract Labor Standards. Quotes must include all applicable taxes. Evaluation criteria are Technical Capability/Experience, Schedule, and Price. The NAICS code is 238220, Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors. Amendment 0002, effective June 10, corrected an administrative error; offerors must acknowledge receipt of all amendments prior to the June 26 deadline. Contract Officer Joseph Kirk is at joseph_kirk@ios.doi.gov or 605.574.0510.
