About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center's Force Protection Division at Hanscom Air Force Base is seeking information through a Request for Information (RFI) regarding the purchase or lease of purpose-built mobile trailers to serve as a data center, laboratory space, and office space for their Systems Integration Lab. The procurement requires a 53-foot trailer with extensive specifications including dedicated server and office spaces, HVAC systems capable of operating on both landline and generator power, a standalone bathroom, lockable features, roof access, capacity for at least six server racks, and the ability to withstand extreme weather conditions including winds over 60mph and up to 8 feet of snow. Vendors must also provide a service maintenance contract for weather damage and equipment breakdowns. The government is requesting information on cost estimates, delivery schedules, lease versus purchase options, small business size standards, and alternative methods for temporary lab space that must remain on Hanscom AFB. Interested vendors must submit no more than five pages of information to specified Air Force email contacts by August 8, 2025.
This pre-solicitation notice does not include any set-aside designations and is categorized under NAICS code 332311 for Prefabricated Metal Building and Component Manufacturing. No current contractors or incumbents are identified in the notice, and no specific budget ranges or award values are disclosed, as this is purely an informational RFI with no funds currently authorized or appropriated. The government emphasizes this is market research to determine feasibility and availability of both commercial off-the-shelf and custom-built solutions. The notice clarifies that participation is voluntary with no compensation provided, and the information gathered will be used to develop the Air Force's acquisition strategy and performance specifications. A Questions and Answers document has been posted as an attachment, with the possibility of additional Q&A sessions to follow.
