About this opportunity

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Kansas City District intends to fulfill a requirement for a new mini-excavator through an existing supply contract rather than direct solicitation, with a response deadline of September 24, 2026. The Corps originally anticipated contacting suppliers directly under FAR 12.201-1(c)(2) for commercial items; this notice now reflects a shift to supply contract fulfillment.

The procurement is set-aside for small business pending SBA concurrence. Place of performance is the Pomme de Terre Lake Project Office at 23697 County Road 218, Hermitage, Missouri.

The requirement covers one new current-year compact radius mini-excavator with approximately 9,200 lbs operating weight, minimum 24 HP diesel engine with auto-idle shutdown, and zero tail swing design. Equipment must include a 10-foot dig depth capacity with long stick, auxiliary hydraulics with diverter valve, rubber tracks with minimum 11.8-inch shoe width, and enclosed ROPS-certified cab with heating, air conditioning, LED lighting, and 360-degree visibility. Required attachments include one 18-inch and one 12-inch general-purpose digging bucket, compatible hydraulic thumb, hydraulic quick coupler, and pivoting front dozer blade.

The vendor must provide formal trade-in valuation and credit for the Government's existing 2021 Caterpillar Wheeled Skid Steer 236D3 (Serial Number KXL01231, 310.6 hours), with direct credit applied against purchase price. The vendor is responsible for pickup concurrent with new equipment delivery. Delivery must occur within 180 days of award to Hermitage between 0700–1530 hours Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Holidays.
