About this opportunity
The National Institutes of Health Office of Logistics and Acquisition Operations is proceeding toward sole-source award to AD Instruments for Millar Mikro-Tip pressure-volume catheters and related equipment, with anticipated award approximately five days after the August 14, 2026 notice date. The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism requires these consumable components to support active cardiovascular research studies on mice.
The required items include PVR-1045 Mouse PV Catheters (1.1F, 4 electrodes, 4.5 mm spacing, 3.5 cm effective length, polyimide, non-repairable, side-mounted solid-state pressure sensor); SPR-839 Mouse PV Catheters (1.4F, 4 electrodes, 4.5 mm spacing, 3.5 cm effective length, polyimide, quantity 2 each); and SPR-1000 Pressure Catheters (1F sensor, straight tip, 41 cm effective length, polyimide, non-repairable, quantity 1 each). All catheters must incorporate Millar proprietary MEMS-based pressure sensor technology and remain compatible with existing ADInstruments/Millar instrumentation and software.
NIH has determined AD Instruments is the only known responsible source capable of meeting technical and programmatic requirements due to proprietary solid-state MEMS pressure sensor technology, data comparability needs, and compatibility with existing laboratory systems. The procurement is firm-fixed-price.
Small business concerns, including 8(a) participants, SDVOSBs, HUBZone, SDBs, VOSBs, and WOSBs, may submit written capability statements to danielt@mail.nih.gov by 9:00 a.m. EST on August 24, 2026, to demonstrate their ability to meet technical, compatibility, maintenance, warranty, and programmatic requirements.
