About this opportunity

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is soliciting quotations for the acquisition of sheet metal storage systems to support its Training Division. This Request for Quotation (RFQ) seeks two (2) sheet metal storage systems featuring stackable, expandable, modular heavy-duty steel construction with specific technical parameters including 6-foot height, minimum 8 shelves, 48" x 96" sheet capacity, and 5,000 lbs. per cassette/cartridge capacity. The procurement is conducted under FAR Parts 12 and 13 as a commercial items acquisition, and awards will be made on a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable basis to a responsible offeror. All products must be new with delivery to the Ballistic Research Facility in Redstone Arsenal, Alabama on an FOB Destination basis no later than 80 days after order receipt. The deadline for submitting questions is April 15, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. EST, and quotations must be submitted via email to Lily Calvert at lrcalvert@fbi.gov no later than April 20, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. EST, with quotes valid for 90 calendar days from the closing date.

This is a Total Small Business Set-Aside, meaning only small business concerns registered in SAM.gov at the time of award are eligible to compete. No incumbent contractor or award value has been identified in the solicitation materials. The specification calls for sheet metal storage systems capable of holding mild steel ranging from 1/16" thickness up to armor plate, with 4' x 8' sheet dimensions and removeable pins or flanges to prevent material from sliding off the racks. The primary rack structure should be painted black with shelves in red, yellow, or orange, though paint color specifications appear to be preferences rather than mandates. Payment will be made under NET30 terms with electronic invoicing through the Invoice Processing Platform (IPP), and the place of performance is Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.
