About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center is conducting market research through a Sources Sought Notice to identify qualified contractors capable of installing an alarm security system to protect a Medal of Honor display at the 351st Special Warfare Training Squadron facility on Kirtland Air Force Base. The required service involves installing a Balance Magnetic Switch (BMS) alarm system that must integrate seamlessly with the base's existing Intrusion Detection System (IDS), with contractors required to be Government Value-Added Resellers (VARs) approved to provide security system services to the U.S. Government. The work includes conducting a site survey, acquiring approved systems from the Intrusion Detection System Equipment List, extending wiring to the north wall in room #147s, installing the new system, and performing comprehensive testing including Contractor Verification Test and Government Acceptance Testing. Responses must include company information, CAGE code, business size designation, and a three-page statement of capabilities demonstrating the ability to perform security alarm wiring installation for existing Intrusion Detection Systems. The deadline for responses is 2:00 PM Mountain Daylight Time on July 17, 2025, with submissions required to Contract Specialist Claudia Perry and Contracting Officer Monique McLaughlin.

Currently, no set-aside designation has been established, though the Air Force reserves the right to consider a small business set-aside for any subsequent acquisition based on responses received to this notice. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are identified in the notice. The anticipated contract structure is a Firm-Fixed-Price procurement under NAICS code 238210 (Electrical Contractors and Other Wiring Installation Contractors) with a size standard of $19.0 million, though no specific contract value or budget range is disclosed. The project focuses on a single Medal of Honor display installation rather than multiple units, indicating a limited scope of work. The Air Force anticipates conducting a competitive acquisition following the completion of this market research phase, with the timeline for the actual solicitation and award not yet specified.
