About this opportunity
The United States Marine Corps Regional Contracting Office (RCO) MCI-West is conducting market research through a Sources Sought notice to identify qualified businesses capable of leasing and maintaining clothing washers and dryers for the Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) in San Diego. The requirement encompasses providing approximately 192 appliances across 18 locations in bachelor enlisted quarters to support 5,000 Marine recruits and permanent personnel across 12 buildings. Contractors must deliver ENERGY STAR compliant electric and gas-powered washers and dryers with capacities ranging from 16-18 lbs to 30 lbs, with all equipment being six years old or newer and color-coordinated within each location. The challenging logistical requirement involves manual delivery and servicing via stairs due to the absence of elevators in these buildings. Interested companies must submit a five-page capabilities statement by October 13, 2025, at 9:00 AM Pacific Time, including detailed organizational information, socio-economic status, NAICS code 532210 classification, and relevant contract experience from the past three years.
This opportunity does not include any set-aside designation and is open to all qualified businesses, though the Marine Corps has expressed particular interest in small businesses including 8(a), HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, and Women-Owned Small Businesses. No information about current incumbents or potential contractors is provided in the documentation. While specific contract values or budget ranges are not disclosed, the scope involves approximately 192 appliances requiring installation and ongoing maintenance services. The contractor must maintain stringent performance standards including 99% compliance for installation and repairs, with response times of 48 hours for equipment repairs (72 hours on weekends or federal holidays). Historical data indicates approximately 10 service calls per week, demonstrating the ongoing maintenance intensity required for this contract. The Marine Corps emphasizes that this Sources Sought notice is strictly for market research purposes and does not constitute a Request for Proposal or guarantee any future contract award.
