Sources Sought (SS)
The United States Marine Corps (USMC) Regional Contracting Office (RCO), Marine Corps Installations (MCI) West at Marine Corp Base (MCB) Camp Pendleton, CA is requesting information as detailed below:
SYNOPSIS:
The RCO MCI-West is issuing this Sources Sought (SS) as a means of conducting market research to determine if there is a sufficient number of qualified businesses interested in and capable of leasing and maintaining clothing washers and dryers. These services will be utilized by the Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) – San Diego (SD).
Background:
MCRD – SD, is required to provided washers and dryers for the use of recruits and permanent personnel living in the Bachelor Enlisted Quarters (BEQ) aboard MCRD-SD. 5,000 Marine Recruits will use these appliances.
Approximately 192 appliances will be required to support personnel on various floors of 12 different buildings aboard the installation. These buildings do not have elevators so all appliances must be delivered and serviced using stairs. Historically, there have been approximately 10 service calls per week. The Government end users are responsible for identifying when equipment is unserviceable. Once the contractor is notified of unserviceable equipment the Contractor has 48 hours, 72 hours if a weekend or Federal holiday is involved, to repair the equipment.
The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement in accordance with FAR Part 12 (Acquisition of Commercial Items). The Government will also use the information gathered through this SS to determine the best acquisition strategy for this requirement (set-aside or full and open, etc.). The Government is interested in all potential sources including Small Businesses, Small Disadvantaged Businesses, 8(a) businesses, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, HUBZone Small Businesses, Women-Owned Small Businesses, etc.
The North American Industry Classification Standard (NAICS) code selected is 532210 (Consumer Electronics and Appliances Rental).
