About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District is seeking small business sources for a maintenance yard expansion project at the Mill Creek location. The firm-fixed-price construction contract will focus on expanding the existing yard's footprint and enhancing security infrastructure through strategic improvements. Key project objectives include removing 200 linear feet of existing chain link fence, installing 400 linear feet of new fencing, constructing a 20-foot electric sliding gate, and implementing site improvements such as ground preparation and gravel installation. Interested firms must submit comprehensive capability statements by February 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM PST, which should include past performance references, business size status, intent to offer, and demonstrated bonding capacity. The evaluation will likely prioritize small businesses with relevant experience in heavy and civil engineering construction under NAICS code 237990.
The contract is not designated with a specific small business set-aside, though it appears to be targeting small business participation. The estimated contract value ranges between $100,000 and $250,000, with an anticipated award in May 2025 and a planned construction timeline from June to August 2025. The project scope includes several specific infrastructure enhancements: installation of eight steel/concrete bollards, two outdoor lights, and two security cameras to improve site functionality and security. The work will expand the yard area to the south, increasing the overall usable space and enhancing the facility's operational capabilities. Potential contractors should be prepared to execute a comprehensive site transformation project within a relatively compact three-month implementation window.
