About this opportunity
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is conducting a market survey for crane rental services to support glass replacement at the DFW-A Airport Traffic Control Tower located in Texas. The agency seeks to identify potential vendors capable of providing a mobile crane with a licensed operator to lift 12-foot tall glass windows weighing up to 4,000 pounds. Interested vendors must submit a capability statement by May 9, 2025, at 12:00 PM CDT, detailing their service types, previous contract experiences, years in business, and specific crane service capabilities. Evaluation will focus on vendors' ability to meet technical requirements outlined in the Statement of Work, including crane specifications, operator certifications, and comprehensive lift planning. Vendors are required to submit their responses via email to Bryon Nolan, using the market survey identifier DFW-A-Crane-2025 in the subject line.
The market survey is open to all business sizes, including large businesses, small businesses, and various small business categories, with no predetermined set-aside status. The FAA will use the responses to determine whether adequate competition exists for a potential small business set-aside procurement. The crane service must be able to operate within specific parameters, including a lift radius of approximately 130 feet, maintaining a crane load capacity of no more than 65%, and positioning the crane with a tip height not exceeding 278 feet above ground level. The total performance period for mobilization and crane services is sixteen days, with the FAA Team Lead Technician responsible for final inspection and approval. While no specific award value is mentioned, the project involves replacing sixteen cab glass windows at the airport traffic control tower, requiring precise and specialized crane services.
