About this opportunity

The Federal Aviation Administration is conducting a market survey for the procurement of 4,020 Phoenix Contact Surge Protection Devices (Manufacturer P/N: 2800982) to support sustainment and maintenance of mission-critical air traffic control systems, with responses due by August 18, 2026. This is a sources-sought exercise for informational purposes only; the FAA is not accepting proposals at this time and will not reimburse vendor submission costs.

The requirement is for a proprietary Phoenix Contact component; the FAA states that procurement of this specific manufacturer's device is mandatory to ensure precise form, fit, and function. The market survey will inform the FAA's choice of procurement method and competitive structure, including whether adequate competition exists to set aside the opportunity among small businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, or 8(a) certified firms.

The NAICS code is 335999 (All Other Miscellaneous Electrical Equipment and Component Manufacturing) with a small business size standard of 600 employees. The PSC code is 5999 (Miscellaneous Electrical and Electronic Components). Interested vendors must submit a capability statement detailing similar government contracts previously awarded. Responses will be used to develop the source list for the eventual formal competition.
