About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command's Regional Maintenance Center at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility is conducting market research for comprehensive maintenance, repair, and preservation services for the Harbor Tug YT-802 (Valiant). This procurement seeks contractors capable of performing extensive shipyard work including hull blasting and preservation, zinc anode replacement, ultrasonic and visual inspections, valve repairs, tank testing, hydraulic system overhauls, and complete deck preservation on the 93-foot steel-hulled vessel. Contractors must have facilities located within the defined Puget Sound region, specifically the West Coast from Olympia, WA to Bellingham, WA, to facilitate proper government oversight. The work scope encompasses multiple vessel systems including hull repairs, superstructure modifications, machinery systems replacement, and comprehensive dock and sea trials. Interested companies must submit their responses by October 17, 2025, though specific evaluation criteria are not detailed in this pre-solicitation notice.

This opportunity does not utilize any set-aside designations and no incumbent contractors are identified in the available documentation. The 15-year-old vessel has specifications including a 38-foot, 3-inch beam, 12-foot draft, and displacement ranging from 453 long tons light load to 581 long tons full displacement. The estimated period of performance spans from July 2026 through September 2026, providing approximately three months for completion of all maintenance and repair activities. The government will handle transportation of the vessel to and from the contractor's facility, with the contractor responsible for coordinating delivery logistics through the Contracting Officer's Representative. No specific contract value or budget range is disclosed in this market research phase, and the procurement involves work on a single naval vessel requiring specialized maritime repair capabilities.
