About this opportunity
The National Institutes of Health intends to award a sole-source purchase order to Carestream Health, Inc. for maintenance renewal on four Lux35 Glassless Wireless Detectors, with responses due by May 21, 2026. The contract covers firm-fixed-price maintenance services for detectors located in the General X-ray Section of the Radiology and Imaging Sciences within the NIH Clinical Center, supporting diagnostic imaging for the ICU, SCSU, operating suites, and clinical care units. The performance period runs September 1, 2026 through August 31, 2027. The sole-source justification rests on Carestream's status as Original Equipment Manufacturer with proprietary technology, incompatibility of competing vendors' detectors with existing Carestream digital imaging equipment, exclusive training of Carestream engineers for service and maintenance, and market research across GSA Advantage, Dynamic Small Business Search, and previous acquisitions that identified no alternative sources meeting all requirements. The requirement includes maintenance on detectors with 802.11n wireless standard and 35.0 x 42.1 cm image size, twelve detector batteries, and DRX Accident Protection Coverage. Responses must include unit pricing, list price, shipping costs, delivery period, payment terms, F.O.B. point, UEI, TIN, and business size certification; all offerors must maintain active SAM registrations. Send responses to Gregory Noland (gregory.noland@nih.gov). The estimated contract value is below the Simplified Acquisition Threshold; the acquisition is not set aside for small businesses.
