About this opportunity

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Goddard Space Flight Center has issued a Special Notice regarding the Landsat Next (LNext) Spacecraft Procurement Industry Week. This notice is specifically focused on soliciting feedback from industry representatives about commercial spacecraft manufacturing capabilities for the LNext mission. The notice emphasizes that this is an informational and planning document, not a Request for Proposal, and is designed to allow industry partners to verify the reasonableness and feasibility of spacecraft requirements. NASA intends to host an Industry Week with two distinct forum sessions to facilitate open communication and collaboration with potential spacecraft vendors. The agency will provide multiple technical documents and attachments to support vendor understanding of the mission's requirements.

The primary objective of this Special Notice is to gather industry insights on spacecraft development practices, cost and schedule performance, and lessons learned in spacecraft and launch service procurements. Interested vendors must submit their primary points of contact, including names, titles, email addresses, and phone numbers to Shana Faris (Contracting Officer) and Cagatay Aymergen (Deputy Project Manager) by February 17, 2025. The Industry Week will consist of an open session during the week of March 3rd to introduce the LNext mission and requirements, followed by dedicated vendor sessions from March 10-14th at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. Any vendor interested in participating must provide contact information and will have an opportunity to present their capabilities and respond to specific questions prepared by the LNext Project. Following the Industry Week, NASA may issue a study Request for Proposal to explore potential updates to LNext documentation that align with commercial practices.
