About this opportunity
The U.S. Department of State, through the American Embassy in Bratislava, is soliciting quotations for corporate life insurance coverage for locally employed staff. The solicitation (19L01026Q0001) seeks proposals from qualified life insurance carriers to provide life, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D), and partial/total disability coverage for approximately 77 locally employed staff members. Key requirements include offering 20 months' basic salary for natural death, 24 months' salary for accidental or work-related death/dismemberment, and 7 months' salary for total permanent disability, with pricing structured in Euros per one thousand of salary. Offerors must demonstrate current licensing or accreditation to provide life insurance in Slovakia and maintain an established business presence in the country with a Project Manager fluent in English. The Government will evaluate proposals based on technical compliance with mandatory benefit requirements, past performance on similar insurance contracts within the past three years, and price, with award intended based on initial quotations without discussions unless competitive range discussions are deemed necessary. The deadline for submitting written questions is April 29, 2026, at 13:00, while completed quotations must be submitted electronically to BratislavaGSOQuote@state.gov by May 18, 2026, at 13:00 local time.
This solicitation includes no set-aside designation and does not identify any incumbent contractors. The contract is structured as a fixed-price indefinite-quantity agreement with a base year plus four option years, though no specific award value or budget range is disclosed in the solicitation documents. Performance will take place in the Bratislava Region, Slovakia, with the contractor required to submit a Slovak-language benefits brochure within 10 days of contract award. Eligible participants include locally employed staff hired under direct hire appointments, Personal Services Agreements (PSAs), and Personal Services Contracts (PSCs), encompassing both U.S. citizens and foreign nationals employed within Slovakia, with the exclusion of employees age 62 or older at the time of hire. Interested offerors should contact Adrian Lanspeary, the Contracting Officer, at LanspearyAJ@state.gov for additional information regarding this procurement opportunity.
