About this opportunity
The Air Education and Training Command's 502d Contracting Squadron at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland Air Force Base is conducting market research to identify qualified contractors capable of providing preventative maintenance services for Lektriever Vertical Carousel filing systems at the U.S. Air Force Drug Testing Laboratory in San Antonio, Texas. The procurement involves maintenance and repair services for five Lektriever Vertical Carousels, model number SYS-120-1411-NT-US/120S-1411 MP, manufactured by Kardex Remstar, which are motorized file cabinets used to efficiently store, manage, and retrieve laboratory files. This Sources Sought Notice is being issued under NAICS code 811210 (Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance) to gather market intelligence that will inform the government's procurement strategy and method of award. The anticipated contract structure is a Firm Fixed Price arrangement, and interested contractors must complete and submit the sources sought questionnaire by August 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM CST. The government is particularly interested in contractors who may be certified Kardex Remstar dealers and can demonstrate relevant experience with similar equipment maintenance.
This procurement does not include any small business set-aside designation and is open to all qualified contractors regardless of size. The Performance Work Statement specifies a five-year contract period requiring two Preventative Maintenance Inspections per year for each of the five filing systems, with emergency maintenance services available during normal duty hours from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. No current incumbent contractor or specific budget range has been disclosed in the available documentation. The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary parts and labor, with a requirement to offer a 25% discount on parts resulting from normal wear and tear. Payment will be processed via Government Purchase Card following completion of services, and the contractor must provide detailed inspection reports documenting all maintenance actions performed. The government emphasizes this is a non-personal services contract where contractors will operate independently without direct government supervision or control.
