About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 20 awarded a bridge contract to Analytical Laboratories, Inc. for Legionella water testing services at the Boise VA Medical Center on April 2, 2026, on a sole-source basis, with an estimated contract price of $10,349.02.

The justification cites unusual and compelling urgency under RFO 12.102 and simplified procedures under RFO 12.201-1. The incumbent contractor possesses detailed knowledge of the facility's domestic water systems, sampling locations, testing schedules, and reporting requirements, along with necessary personnel, laboratory capability, certifications, and operational readiness to continue performance without interruption. These services are required to ensure compliance with VA directives, infection prevention requirements, and public health standards governing domestic water systems across ten buildings at the facility.

The Government determined the price fair and reasonable based on previously competed contract pricing and historical prices paid. The bridge contract will provide continuity of critical services while the Government completes acquisition planning, solicitation, and award of a full and open competitive follow-on contract consisting of a one-year base period and four one-year option periods. No additional sources expressed written interest in the bridge requirement. Place of performance is the Boise VA Medical Center, Boise, Idaho (NAICS 541380, PSC Q301).
