About this opportunity

The National Institutes of Health Office of Logistics and Acquisition Operations intends to procure one Beckman Optima XPN 100 ultracentrifuge with delivery, installation, and training services; response to this pre-solicitation notice closes August 25, 2026. No set-aside applies.

The ultracentrifuge will be delivered to and installed at the National Cancer Institute's Laboratory of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. The instrument must operate at a maximum speed of 100,000 rpm with programmable acceleration and deceleration profiles to support the laboratory's specialized rotors used in Xenopus egg extract preparation and must be compatible with existing experimental workflows. The instrument will be located adjacent to the satellite animal facility to ensure extract quality and reproducibility.

Full white-glove service includes truck delivery with team, onsite installation by a certified Beckman Coulter field service engineer, and basic operator training. The contractor must trade in and remove the existing Beckman Optima XL-100K ultracentrifuge. Deliverables include documentation, manuals, and standard warranty.
