About this opportunity
The National Park Service, ConOps West, is seeking contractors for the construction and installation of a fiber optic cable route within Lake Mead National Recreation Area. The project involves installing a minimum 12-pair fiber optic cable from the Alan Bible Visitors Center to the south side of Great Basin Highway via directional boring to an NV DOT Fiber Optic Cable Vault, and connecting the Safety-First IT Server Room to a second vault through existing conduit. The work includes cable splicing to connect the new cable with NV DOT identified dark fiber optic cable strands at both vault locations to establish a reliable DOI Network connection between the Safety-First IT Server room and the Alan Bible Visitors Center. The acquisition will be handled as an Invitation for Bid (IFB) under Federal Acquisition Regulation Subparts 14 and 36, classified under NAICS code 238210 for Electrical Contractors and Other Wiring Installation Contractors. The official solicitation will be issued on or about July 7, 2025, and posted to SAM.gov, with contractors required to have a Unique Entity ID and active SAM registration by the solicitation close date.
This procurement is designated as a total small business set-aside with a size standard of $19 million under NAICS 238210. No incumbent contractors are identified in the pre-solicitation notice. The project magnitude is estimated between $250,000 and $500,000, with a firm-fixed price contract award contemplated. The work will be performed at Lake Mead National Recreation Area in Clark County near Boulder City, Nevada. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on June 18, 2025, with a due date of July 3, 2025, though this appears to reference the response deadline for this preliminary notice rather than the final proposal submission date.
