About this opportunity
The Bureau of Land Management Oregon-Washington Region seeks rodent abatement services at a historic house located in the Gerber Special Recreation Management Area near Bonanza, Oregon, with quotations due July 10 at 5:00 PM (MT) and inquiries due July 6 at 8:00 AM (MT). The procurement is a total small business set-aside.
Place of performance is 53360 Gerber Road, Bonanza, Oregon, approximately 45 miles east of Klamath Falls. The 12-month period of performance runs September 1, 2026 through August 31, 2027. The approximately 692-square-foot building requires comprehensive rodent control to prepare it for conversion into a rental cabin.
The Statement of Work requires three primary tasks: trap and remove all rodents using only mechanical traps (no anti-coagulant or chemical rodenticides permitted due to wildlife impact concerns) with exterior trapping and public signage in the recreation area; inspect and permanently block all identified rodent entry points while maintaining historic building integrity, with Contracting Officer's Representative approval required for alterations and archaeologist monitoring if ground digging is required; and disinfect and clean all rodent nests, feces, and debris from basement, crawl space, living space, and attic using state and federal law-compliant disinfectants, with approved disposal of all waste. The government will remove all interior furnishings prior to contractor performance. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, unless alternate hours receive Contracting Officer approval with at least three business days' notice.
The contractor must provide all labor, supplies, materials, equipment, supervision, and transportation; hold proper licensing; obtain necessary permits; and bear all disposal fees. Payment is a lump-sum amount tied to final project completion with no progress or milestone-based invoicing permitted. Quotations must include a signed Standard Form 18, cover letter with company information and SAM UEI number, and acknowledgment of amendments. Quote validity must be 60 days. Amendment 0001, effective June 25, issued industry Q&A clarifications and requires acknowledgment prior to the submission deadline. The NAICS code is 561710, Exterminating and Pest Control Services. The PSC code is S207, Housekeeping—Insect/Rodent Control.
