About this opportunity
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has published a Notice of Intent to Sole Source for the procurement of myBaits Custom 480K hybridization capture reagents. This Special Notice, posted on March 12, 2026, announces the FDA's intention to award a firm-fixed-price purchase order to Arbor Biosciences for laboratory reagents supporting targeted metagenomic sequencing operations. The procurement falls under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and is classified under NAICS code 325414 (Biological Product Manufacturing) and PSC code 6640 (Laboratory Equipment and Supplies). The reagents will be used by the FDA's Office of Acquisitions and Grant Services, Facilities Support Branch, in support of FDA Project No. HFP-2026-133128. This notice represents the FDA's determination that Arbor Biosciences possesses proprietary capabilities necessary for this specialized procurement.
The primary objective of this procurement is to obtain sixty-four enrichment reactions of myBaits Custom hybridization capture reagents to support the FDA's detection and identification of arthropod contaminants in food products through metagenomic DNA sequencing conducted under cGMP/cGLP standards. Interested parties have until March 19, 2026, at 12:00 PM EST to submit capability statements to Contract Specialist Erika Crawford at Erika.Crawford@fda.hhs.gov. All responses must include the company's Unique Entity Identification (UEI) Number, company name and address, primary point of contact with email and phone number, SAM.gov-validated business type, and evidence demonstrating capability to provide the required reagents or an equivalent product meeting government technical specifications. There are no specific set-asides or eligibility restrictions stated; however, only firms capable of providing the proprietary myBaits Custom capture reagents or equivalent products meeting FDA technical requirements may participate. The government reserves the right to conduct a competitive procurement based on submitted information, with the final decision at government discretion.
