The Food and Drug Administration, Office of Acquisitions and Grant Services, Facilities Support Branch intends to award a firm-fixed-price purchase order for laboratory reagents to Arbor Biosciences at 5840 Interface DR STE 101, Ann Arbor, Michigan, 48103-9176.
The FDA requires the purchase of myBaits® Custom hybridization capture reagents equivalent to sixty-four (64) enrichment reactions for targeted metagenomic DNA sequencing used to detect and identify arthropod contaminants in food products. These reagents support specialized FDA laboratory research conducted under cGMP/cGLP standards.
Arbor Biosciences is believed to be the only responsible source capable of providing the proprietary myBaits® Custom capture reagent required for this project. However, interested parties that believe they can provide an equivalent product meeting the Government’s technical requirements may submit capability statements.
This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, which permit the Government to solicit from a single source when only one responsible source is reasonably available to meet the Government’s requirements. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 325414 – Biological Product (except Diagnostic) Manufacturing. The Product Service Code (PSC) is 6640 – Laboratory Supplies.
This notice is being distributed solely via the System for Award Management (SAM.gov) website. As Arbor Biosciences is the only source that can meet the Government’s need at this time, this notice is not a request for competitive quotes. However, if any interested parties, especially a small business, believe they can meet the Government’s needs, they may identify their interests and/or capability in relation to this procurement to the Contract Specialist, Erika Crawford, at Erika.Crawford@fda.hhs.gov no later than 12:00 PM EST on March 19, 2026.
Responses sent utilizing other means will not be considered.
Information received will be used solely to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed action based upon responses to this notice is at the discretion of the Government.
