About this opportunity
The Air Force's Acquisition Management and Integration Center (AMIC) at Hurlburt Field, Florida, has issued a Notice of Contract Action (NOCA) for a Joint Range Extension (JRE) technical refresh to support the 705th Combat Training Squadron's aging communications systems. The procurement involves upgrading four specific JRE systems (Serial #s 4227, 4228, 4229, and 5052) that serve as critical communications bridges between Link 16 and non-Link 16 long haul equipment, providing Beyond Line of Sight tactical connectivity for Command and Control platforms. The systems are essential for VIRTUAL FLAG and other Distributed Mission Operations Center exercises, requiring one JRE 4G1 System (Semi-Rugged 7U with Transit Case) and three JRE 1U, G3 Dual Channel 1553 systems. This is not a formal solicitation but rather a notice of intent to issue a sole source purchase order, with no evaluation criteria specified as vendors are only requested to submit capabilities statements if they believe they can meet the requirements. The response deadline is September 11, 2025, with no reimbursement provided for submission costs.
This procurement operates under no set-aside designation and identifies Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) of Reston, Virginia, as the intended sole source contractor under authority of 10 USC 2302(b). The contract value falls between the Simplified Acquisition Threshold and $750,000, structured as a Firm-Fixed Price purchase order under NAICS code 334111 (Electronic Computer Manufacturing) with a size standard of 1,250 employees. The technical refresh encompasses four JRE units requiring hardware delivery, software license transfers, and new serial number assignments, with existing help desk support contract modifications to reflect the updated systems. Performance will take place in Albuquerque, New Mexico, specifically at Kirtland Air Force Base where the 705 CTS/DOR is located, with 1st Lt Daniel Mack serving as the primary point of contact for hardware delivery coordination.
