About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Reserve Command at Homestead Air Reserve Base has issued a Sources Sought notice to identify potential suppliers for JDAM GBU Assembly & Maintenance Tool Kits and equivalent items under NAICS code 336419. This market research initiative seeks specialized tools for guided bomb unit assembly, maintenance, and alignment, including spanner wrenches, thread chasing tools, torque adapters, closure ring tools for various munition models (MK-84, MK-82, BDU-50/56, and FMU series fuzes), and a complete Snap-On tool kit with an 11-drawer chest containing over 150 individual tools. Interested parties must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and should submit company information including business size, annual revenues, employee count, socio-economic status certifications, CAGE Code, SAM registration expiration date, and any applicable GSA contract details. The government is conducting this market research to determine industry interest, capability, and the socio-economic categories of potential sources. All responses must be submitted electronically by 4:00 PM EST on September 3, 2025, to the designated contracting officer.
This Sources Sought notice does not utilize any set-aside designations and is open to businesses of all sizes that can meet the requirement. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are identified in the notice, and no specific award values or budget ranges are disclosed as this is strictly a market research effort. The detailed parts list encompasses hundreds of specialized tools and components necessary for maintaining and assembling various guided munition systems, though specific quantities for procurement are not specified. The government emphasizes that this is not a solicitation and responses will not be considered binding offers, with any future contracting decisions remaining solely at the government's discretion. The relatively short response timeframe of six days indicates the government's intent to move quickly with market research before potentially issuing a formal solicitation.
