About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Integrated Service Network 21 is seeking sources for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) cleaning and janitorial services to support its Environmental Management Service operations. The requirement involves providing 12 full-time equivalent employees dedicated to cleaning medical equipment and supporting housekeeping functions at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System in Palo Alto, California. Contractors must ensure full attendance and provide backup replacements as necessary to maintain continuous service delivery. The Government will evaluate submissions based on business size designation, socio-economic status, current System for Award Management (SAM) registration with Online Representations and Certification Application on file, and demonstrated ability and experience with similar projects. This is a Sources Sought announcement only—no formal solicitation is currently available—and responses must be submitted to Contract Specialist Jill Williams at jill.williams@va.gov by 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time on February 2, 2026. The information submitted will be used solely for internal government decision-making regarding procurement strategy and business type determination and will not be disclosed outside the Department of Veterans Affairs.
This procurement is not designated with any set-aside program. No incumbent contractor or award value has been specified in the announcement. The applicable NAICS code is 561720 (Janitorial Services) with a $22 million size standard, meaning small businesses are those with annual revenue below this threshold. The specific staffing requirement of 12 full-time equivalent employees represents the primary numerical metric for this services contract. Interested parties should be prepared to demonstrate relevant experience with similar janitorial and equipment cleaning operations to support their capability submission. The Government will use the responses received to inform its final procurement strategy and business type decision, though submission of capability information does not guarantee a future contract award or formal solicitation.
