About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network 21, is soliciting maintenance and repair services for Siemens Skyra 3T MRI imaging equipment and Dimplex thermal solution chillers at VA hospitals within NCO 21. This is a sole source procurement under FAR 6.302-1, with the government intending to award to Siemens Healthineers based on the determination that only one responsible source can satisfy agency requirements. Key contract requirements include maintaining 95% equipment operational uptime during standard business hours (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday), responding to phone calls within 60 minutes, and providing on-site emergency repairs within 8 hours. The contractor must assign fully qualified Field Service Engineers with a minimum of two years' experience, maintain comprehensive general liability insurance of at least $500,000 per occurrence, and comply with extensive security and privacy requirements including VA Handbook 6500 compliance and Business Associate Agreement execution. Interested contractors must submit capability statements by April 1, 2026, at 1:00 PM Pacific Time to contract specialist Brock Bell at brock.bell@va.gov, referencing solicitation number 36C26126Q0184, with no competitive evaluation planned unless the government determines to compete the procurement at its sole discretion.
This procurement carries no set-aside designation and is intended as a sole source award to Siemens Healthineers, the presumed incumbent contractor. The contract is structured as a Base plus 4 Option Year arrangement, with pricing to be provided by respondents according to the Performance Work Statement; no specific dollar value or budget range is disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice. Applicants must demonstrate socioeconomic status, possess active DUNS, CAGE, and UEI codes, provide references from similar government and commercial projects, and submit documentation of authorization from Siemens to perform maintenance services. The work is classified under NAICS Code 811210 (Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance) with a $34.0 million size standard, and falls under Product Service Code J065. Failure to provide all requested information will result in a non-responsive submission, and all respondents must maintain current registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) at sam.gov.
