About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Integrated Service Network 8 issued a Special Notice of Intent to Sole Source a firm-fixed price task order to Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc., for full-service maintenance and repair of Siemens Healthcare diagnostic imaging systems at North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System locations, with a response deadline of August 31, 2026 at 4:30 PM ET.
The task order covers a base period plus four option years running from October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2031. Equipment includes Intevo Bold SPECT/CT, Magnetom Area Mobile MRI, Stellant Flex Contrast Injectors, and Symbia Pro.specta X3 SPECT/CT systems at Malcolm Randall VAMC in Gainesville, Florida and VAMC Lake City, Florida. The VA justifies the sole-source award under FAR 16.505(b)(2)(i)(B) on the basis that Siemens is the original equipment manufacturer with exclusive authorized access to proprietary software, diagnostic tools, service passwords, and OEM-certified parts. The VA asserts that only Siemens-trained service engineers can perform these services and that non-OEM providers risk equipment damage, safety issues, or additional costs.
Services include preventive maintenance per manufacturer specifications, emergency on-call repairs with two-hour response time, overnight parts delivery, loaner equipment at no additional cost, and comprehensive service documentation within two business days. The VA guarantees 98–99 percent system uptime and 30-minute phone response time.
Interested parties may submit clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government by emailing Contracting Officer Heidi Parrish at heidi.parrish@va.gov no later than August 31, 2026 at 4:30 PM ET. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes.
