About this file
This is a Special Notice of Intent to Sole Source a task order for imaging maintenance and repair services. The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 8 intends to award a firm-fixed price task order with a base period plus four option years to Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc., for full-service maintenance and repair of Siemens Healthcare diagnostic imaging systems across multiple North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System locations. The NAICS code is 334517 (Irradiation Apparatus Manufacturing). The covered equipment includes Intevo Bold SPECT/CT, Magnetom Area Mobile MRI, Stellant Flex Contrast Injectors, and Symbia Pro.specta X3 SPECT/CT systems located at VAMC Gainesville and Lake City VA Medical Center.
Siemens is being pursued as the sole source provider because it is the original equipment manufacturer with exclusive authorized access to proprietary software, diagnostic tools, service passwords, and OEM-certified parts required for proper system servicing. The VA asserts that only Siemens-trained service engineers can perform these services and that non-OEM providers could create equipment damage, safety, or additional cost risks. The primary objective is to maintain operational readiness, minimize system downtime, and ensure all maintenance and repairs comply with OEM and regulatory standards. Interested parties may submit clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government by emailing Contracting Officer Heidi Parrish at heidi.parrish@va.gov no later than 4:30 PM ET on August 31, 2026. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes.
