About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration, specifically the Network Contracting Office 4 (NCO 4), has issued a Special Notice of intent to award a sole source contract for maintenance services of the SlideMate AS on Demand Printer System at the Erie VA Medical Center. The contract will be awarded to Richard-Allan Scientific, LLC, a subsidiary of Epredia, who is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for the system. The sole source justification is based on Epredia's exclusive certification of their service technicians to perform maintenance on their manufactured instruments in the United States. The proposed contract includes a one-year base period from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2026, with four additional one-year option periods. The procurement is classified under NAICS code 811210 for Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance, with a Small Business Administration size standard of $34.0 million.

The primary objective of this Special Notice is to inform potential contractors about the VA's intent to award a maintenance contract for the SlideMate AS on Demand Printer System without full and open competition. While the notice is not a request for competitive quotes, responsible firms can submit written notifications and capability statements before the response deadline of June 2, 2025, at 11 AM EST. Interested vendors must provide specific information including company name, SAM UEI number, address, point of contact details, business size, and socioeconomic status. The VA will evaluate any responses received, but retains sole discretion in determining whether to compete the procurement. Contractors must submit their responses via email to arlene.albrite@va.gov and include detailed evidence demonstrating their ability to perform the required services. The maintenance services will cover both preventative and corrective maintenance, with strict requirements for response times, documentation, and adherence to OEM recommendations.
