About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office (NCO) 6 has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract to GE OEC Medical Systems Information Technology, Inc. The contract is specifically for preventive maintenance of GE Brand PCS MACVU360 systems located at the Fayetteville VA Medical Center in North Carolina. The VA has determined that GE is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and sole provider of these maintenance services, believing that using alternative suppliers would result in duplicated costs that cannot be recovered through competition. This Special Notice is not a competitive solicitation but rather a notification of the VA's intended contracting approach. The opportunity is categorized under NAICS code 339112 for Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing and PSC code J065 for Medical Equipment Maintenance.

Contractors interested in potentially providing these maintenance services must submit a written notice by February 21, 2025, at 5:00 PM EST to Jonathan.Lamb@va.gov. Any responding businesses must provide comprehensive documentation including company name, address, point of contact, phone number, System for Award Management (SAM) Unique Entity ID (UEI), and manufacturer authorization documentation such as authorized dealer, distributor, or reseller certifications. While the VA will review all submissions, the agency retains sole discretion in determining whether to compete the proposed acquisition. The primary objective of this notice is to ensure continuous and uninterrupted preventive maintenance for medical equipment at the Fayetteville VA Medical Center, with a focus on maintaining patient care continuity. Market research has already concluded that these specific maintenance services can only be obtained from a single source without risking unacceptable cost duplication or service delays. Potential contractors should carefully review the requirements and be prepared to provide substantial evidence of their capability to meet the VA's specific maintenance needs.
