About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Maryland Health Care System, announced its intent to sole source a firm-fixed price service contract to GE Healthcare for preventive maintenance and service plan coverage of GE radiology equipment at the Baltimore and Perry Point VA Medical Centers, with a response deadline of June 19, 2026. The sole source award is justified under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) (Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements) because GE Healthcare is the original equipment manufacturer and possesses exclusive access to proprietary OEM parts, software, technical expertise, system configurations, and clinical application support required for the equipment. The contractor shall provide support and maintenance including repairs, software updates, clinical application support, travel, labor, and parts in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and VA Biomedical Engineering's schedule. Any new GE diagnostic imaging equipment installed during the contract period and purchased under VA797H-17-D-0024 will be added by modification. The successful contractor must maintain an active, VA-approved Memorandum of Understanding and Interconnection Security Agreement for remote support capabilities, and a Business Associate Agreement for incidental access to Protected Health Information. Detailed service reports must be submitted within two weeks of service completion. The Network Contracting Office 05 is handling the procurement.
