About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 2 (NCO 2) has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a sole source contract to GE Precision Healthcare LLC for medical equipment maintenance services. The contract covers repair and maintenance of specialized medical imaging equipment at the Buffalo VA Medical Center, including two Discovery 830 Gamma Cameras, one Optima NM/CT 640 SPECT system, and one Signa Artist 1.5T MRI machine. The procurement is classified under NAICS Code 811210 for Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance with a small business size standard of $34 million. The contract structure includes a base year plus four optional extension years. GE Precision Healthcare LLC, located in Waukesha, Wisconsin, is the intended sole source recipient for this maintenance contract.

The primary purpose of this Special Notice is to inform the contracting community of the government's intention to proceed with a sole source award while providing an opportunity for alternative vendors to demonstrate their capabilities. Although this is not a request for competitive quotes, any firm believing it can meet the requirements may submit a written response with supporting evidence by August 21, 2025, at 12:00 PM EST via email to Taylor.Richter@va.gov. Potential contractors must provide sufficient detail demonstrating their ability to perform the specialized medical equipment maintenance requirements. The government retains complete discretion to evaluate any responses received and determine whether to proceed with the sole source award or consider competitive procurement. If no qualifying responses are received, the VA will proceed with awarding the contract to GE Precision Healthcare LLC as planned.
