About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 2 has issued a Sources Sought Notice announcing its intent to award a sole source contract to CareFusion Solutions, LLC for medical equipment maintenance services. The contract will cover CareFusion Pyxis Medication Dispenser and Tissue & Implant Management System (TIMS) service plans for VA medical centers across New York (Albany, Bath, Buffalo, Batavia, Canandaigua, Rochester, and Syracuse) and Hudson Valley, New Jersey. The base contract period will run from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026, with four additional option years available. The procurement is classified under NAICS code 811310 for commercial and industrial machinery repair and maintenance, specifically targeting medical equipment maintenance and repair services. The VA's Network Contracting Office 2 is managing this procurement process.

The primary purpose of this sole source procurement is to secure specialized maintenance services for proprietary medical equipment that can only be serviced by the Original Equipment Manufacturer due to patent and copyright restrictions. While this is not a competitive solicitation, the VA is providing an opportunity for other firms to demonstrate their capabilities by submitting written responses with supporting evidence by August 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM Eastern Time. Interested contractors must email their responses to Kimberly Wiatrowski at the VA, as telephone inquiries will not be accepted. To be eligible for consideration, firms must provide sufficient detail demonstrating their ability to perform the specialized maintenance requirements for the CareFusion Pyxis product line. The government retains full discretion to determine whether to proceed with the sole source award or open the procurement to competition based on any responses received, and if no qualifying responses are submitted, the VA will proceed with the planned sole source award to CareFusion Solutions, LLC.
